Hi everyone.

Sorry I couldn't make it to the meeting i couldn't get out of work. I'm just going to note a few things i was going to say...

1. I am hoping to hold a music event at Newcastle college in the venue. I go to the college and i do stage managment and technical production so i no all about the backstage stuff i.e. sound and lighting etc so all i need really is a team to work with. I have some classmates who are going to help out but any more help would be appreciated.

2. The gig will simply be as many bands i can get to play (already got a handful) on a night with a funky name such as "toonjam" or something similar in the performance academy's venue at newcastle college. There will be an entrance fee of probably £3 of which all profit will go to oxfam.

3. I have teamed up with Frances (an oxjamer from newcastle uni) who also couldn't make it to the meeting because she's back down south and we will be organising this event together.

And finally, Marco if your on here, i know your holding an event at the college so if you need any help with the technical crew there just let me know (im the lad from Durham) - and i really like your idea of organising something in leazes park and would like to help!

Cheers, Liam

Hey im Jon, too couldnt make it to the meeting.

Little about me: i'm 20, from near norwich, lived in newcastle for 2 years, i work at the carling academy, and in september should be starting an events management course at newcastle college.

I've started to plan a night of live music/bands at the carling academy, featuring local bands. After disscussions about a date I'm still waiting to hear back from them about a price.

I would be up for helping with an event at leazes park (and any other events Smile ), I've got plenty of contacts that would probably be willing to help out eg. bar staff, sercurity, tech crew, all from the carling academy, and a couple of others who can help provide equiptment.

Jackie hope you sign up on here i've sent you an email about the drum and bass night your wanting to set up. I would love to help out, and have a couple of ideas to put to you Smile

Couple of other things I'm planning on doing are approaching the people that run bulletproof and revolution at the academy asking if they'll let us maybe put donation boxs around or somthing. And should also be working with the guys that run several nights at durham uni.

Look forward to working with you all and shall see ya at the next meeting,
Jon

Hi, I also couldnt make it to the meeting!

My name's Claire and I'm from Northern Ireland (hence not being able to make it) and go to Newcastle Uni. I'm studying Music and am also the Social Secretary of the Music Society so technically I'm just the spokesperson for a Society based event. We were planning a huge karaoke night in the Global bar of the Student's Union!

Just to let y'all know I have a lot of help at my disposal; being a Society we are funded by the University, I have a lot of contacts in the RockSoc IndieSoc Breakdancing Society and many others we have collaberated with, also our website http://www.societies.ncl.ac.uk/mussoc has on online database with all the musicians/bands on the course, the folk degree and beyond (this is not accessible unless you are a member I believe the link doesnt activate or something) so just to let you know we have the info to get anyone a band/musician/DJ etc.

Anything I can help anyone with I shall surely give it a go! The Leazes Park thing sounds like a class idea we have some great publicity plans so let me know what we can do!!

Cheers boys,

Claire
